'Tis a smallish world...

One of my current methods of shifting out of CSS ("constant stress syndrome", @2019,dcb, not yet posted) is to watch some "shlock" TV after my lady heads off to sleep. The current 'winner' is Numb3rs, as it meets the need for something not-too-challenging, but if I don't fall asleep, it is at least entertaining until middle dark-thirty.
Recently an episode featured an art forgery as the MacGuffin with tangents into authentication and restoration. ...or maybe that is another show? Regardless, reading a post from a linked site on my portal and further reading a comment there led to an art reference. ...and being someone who just soaks up info, I just had to look up the the painting referenced (and the excellent detail being copied from it) for ... reasons (okay, I've never owned a white hat, but the rest of the scene is familiar from days past). ...and so "history". ...and "restoration" (interesting as the TV show explained "we can find when it was painted by the pigment 'signature' ").
Oh, hell: just the varnish removal portion of the project took eight flippin' weeks! ...with what sounds like Q-tips!
Conservation...
There's a reason my portal is titled "Circular References"...
