Well, it just wouldn't have been correct to post this one before midnight. I mean, technically it's still the 16th this side of the dateline, so it's still cool; but there are only a few geek posts you can do and make a due date. ...unless you're more familiar with the near side of deadlines than the far side. ...and if you make the deadline, you likely aren't catching the point that one of the things about geekery is that they are immense time sinks (!) that generally involve jumping into the process and not coming up for air until hours have passed. Sheesh, I don't even believe it's legal in some places to start installing an OS before the witching hour!

So why the over run on time here? Simple: I've been gaming. Sure I opened this post several hours ago, but then I got caught up playing World of Warcraft. No, not evening playing, per se, just running all my auction alts through the Auction Houses catching up on the sales for the last couple of days and prepping for the weekend's feast of plenty. Yeah, hard core, but not necessarily in the usual way.

WoW has games within games; and while I play the main leveling portion of the game well enough for a casual player, the broken arm and the rotator cuff repair last Spring roller-blading put my l33t trackball skilz on hold. ...and that meant thirteen toons across two realms (and two accounts) kinda', sorta' had a problem with their puppeteer's arm in a sling.

The good news is that gold is always in short supply if you're just leveling. ...and toons needed to be brought up to max on their crafting skills. ...and that takes money. ...and then there's some gearing and gemming to be done. ...and just because you're on the bench doesn't mean you can't connect to eTrade in your spare time. So, yeah, instead of my one or two auction alts on each realm, everyone pretty much got into the act. Areas of expertise were divvied up and some seed goods and money made their way where needed. ...and several months later everyone it pretty nicely set; professions are maxed (level capped in a few cases), everyone has decent gear and the proper enchants and gems, and I'm having to seriously work on keeping one particular rogue and mage pair in check: while the DKs are more than happy to sit in the back of the tavern and plan the destruction of the Alliance; these two want to get back to their old dual-boxing ways and just go out and gank for the fun of it.

...and no, I'm not on a RP server, straight PVP, thankyouverymuch.

The boy and I played WOW for years and then this summer just took a break. I had stuff to do and he has all honors classes to keep up with.Still, there are times I miss it... the auctions and riding through Theremore.

I fear have have forgotten how to play most of my toons! Fortunately my DKs just hit things; that should be a good starting point :)
