...and some adults without the experience of classic SciFi:
I used 👍 👍 👍 the other day in a YouTube chat (with a "from SciFi" reference).
Crickets.
They only knew that as a emote, not an emot(ie).

My first SciFi read was a paperback I bought at a "supermarket" in 1962. The author was Andre Norton (Alice Mary North, because of course women couldn't write for that market); I believe the book was Lord of Thunder.
The rest, as is said, is history.
